It's almost the New Year, which means it's time to start breaking out the year-end lists. A panel of ministry leaders has put together a list of the 25 most innovative churches in America for Outreach magazine. (Link goes to a helpful list of the 25 churches at the Church Relevance blog; see the Outreach site for more details on the panel and the way the list was compiled.)
There are a number of familiar names on the list (Saddleback Church, Rob Bell's Mars Hill Bible Church, etc.), but also quite a few that are new to me. Take a few minutes to visit the websites of some of the churches on the list and see what they're up to. A few questions to bear in mind while you look through the list: how would you, personally, define 'innovative' ministry? What churches in your hometown are doing groundbreaking ministry work in their communities? Is your church one of them? If you attend one of the churches on the list, any comments you'd like to share?
