(Chuckle) I see this all the time. Here are MY thoughts on each:

Cartoon #1: Good example of what happens when a person is NOT discipled. (Matthew 28:19)

Cartoon #2: I wonder what it would look like if we were looking on the inside instead of the outside? (Romans 3:23)
I don't get the first cartoon. Why would somebody go from listening to music to becoming what looks to be a Catholic monk?
I don't get the first one either. Is liturgical supposed to be the last place you land in worship? Is that supposed to be a bad thing? Judging from the previous iterations to the left, this looks like a slam on liturgy. Is that it? Is that supposed to be funny?
I don't think either are meant to be humorous. Very thought provoking. I can't really make out the first one or in which way it should be read. I don't think I agree with it.

I can appreciate the thought behind them. I don't have to agree. If I don't agree then at least it allows me to consider why they feel this way and what I can do to make sure I don't contribute or help them feel another way.

Interesting...
You must look into the eyes of Jesus. Perfect, he died a criminal's death on a cruel cross. All of our wrong actions, thoughts, deeds, desires, were nailed on that cross with him. Our sin, our evil, our rot... Jesus willingly suffered in our place. The punishment we deserved, he took. The price has been paid. In place he gave us grace, forgiveness, a clean slate, a righteousness. All we need do is believe and accept it. Believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Jesus paid it all.

Wherever you are, tell Jesus what you need to say. He will hear you. He will answer. He has already forgiven you. He is waiting for you to confess your sin to him, accept his sacrifice in your place, and be made new. The forgiveness is there waiting, but you must accept it from Jesus.

Jesus paid it all; all to him I owe. Follow Jesus day by day and he will free you from the guilt you are carrying.
Are you serious, you don't get the first one. It is someone who goes from worshipping and seeking God, to someone who has been lulled asleep by religion. Forgetting their worship to God is based on a personal relationship, letting man's doctrines distract them from the personal worship God desires from us.
Cartoon 1
on the first day, the worshiper was not sure that god could see him
on the second day, his shoulder injury was giving him discomfort
on the third day, he prayed for healing
on the fourth day, he waited patiently
on the fifth day, his pastor told him 93% of all healings performed by God were of a nonphysical nature (spirtual, emotional, inner etc)
on the sixth day, he took his contact lenses out, didn't shave, studied the scripture on his ipod and fasted and sought the Lord
on the seventh day he rested.
I really like Nick's explanation. It's like the man goes from an active and meaningful relationship to playing a role for appearance's sake. I'm not saying that everyone who takes on a formal role in the church has lost relationship, but it does happen....
