Good Christian art?

Maybe I'm in a bubble, but I just don't see many good modern artists taking on biblical themes. CT did have a nice collection of some in April.

A friend just pointed me to a new site featuring the work of a very talented artist named Daniel Bonnell. It's called the Images on Christ Project. His work is almost entirely focused on the gospels, like the one to the right, called Moon, Dove, and The Footwasher.

I know our church is always looking for new media to use to illustrate biblical scenes. These are awesome for that! And you can buy nice quality downloads of them.

I am a Christian painter and have recently finished a painting of John 2: 9-11. I was hoping to find a Christian painting a day blog, but stumbled upon this one! Thanks for your blog! Thanks for your thoughts on good Christian art... however, what really makes art "Christian", the theme or the intent? Many times we lose site of our ability to release the Kingdom of God through creative expression regardless of it's overt message.

We, my wife and I, are not artists, and we don't know if what we build would be considered art by the community; but we think it art, it is certainly the most beautiful art we are capable of producing. Our hopes and efforts are geared towards the honor of God and edifying the body of Christ.
