Heavenly Harry (Potter)?

The new HP movie releases tomorrow. There's an article on the Christianity Today site called "The Sacrificial Boy Wizard: Harry Potter, reviled by many Christians, might actually be something of a Christ figure, as each of his adventures takes him through a life, death and resurrection."

The author states:

The Harry Potter books are laid out according to a formula repeated in each story. This formula, used in stories from ancient epics to modern adventure novels, is known by many different names and has been attributed many different meanings. As it is used in the Harry Potter books, the formula is a snapshot of the innate human hope that love conquers death and that we will rise from the dead in a resurrection made possible by and in Christ. No doubt you find this hard to believe...

Uh, I'm sure many here will find that hard to believe. So please read the article and post your thoughts.

I haven't had a problem with the HP series. (Of course, I like everything, right johnj?) Not a huge fan, but have enjoyed the movies, and my kids have loved the books.

In my book, this is good fantasy stuff, along the lines of LOTR and Narnia. This isn't true witchcraft or Satanism. Far from it.
