Seven Deadly Sins Maps

Forbes.com has some nifty-looking maps up that you might find interesting. The subject matter, however, is not nifty.

They showcase which cities are most involved with each of the seven deadly sins.

We have unveiled the American city that has fallen the farthest from grace in each of the seven deadly sins ( lust, gluttony, avarice, sloth, wrath, envy and pride). For each sin we stretched our imagination to find a workable proxy--murder rates for wrath, per capita billionaires for avarice--then culled the available data sources to rank the cities. Some of the results were surprising: Salt Lake City as America's Vainest City. Some were not: Detroit as America's Most Murderous.

I did a screengrab of a few of them that highlight my state (Michigan):

gluttony

Sloth

wrath

Thoughts on this? How is your state/city doing?

A lot of these cities are also the larger ones, and therefore more sinsful in 'gross sinning'. I suppose a truly accurate map would need to use a 'percent sin' count. What percent of the population of these cities have been convicted of the related crimes.
That's a great point. I checked on Forbes site and it seems like some of the data was tabulated on a "percent sin" basis, like wrath and greed. It would be interesting to see the hard numbers as well.
thanks for the link!
This is awesome. I gotta share this one. Thanks for the heads up.
I live in Texas for 30 years. Texas has gluttonly and sloth. Yes, their belly is their god.
Just move out of Arlington. Texas <home and="" cowboys="" dallas="" rangers="" texas="" to=""> to country living in Joshua, Texas. I pray that all 7 deadly sins is "no more." "yeah, right."
Thank you for this info.....</home>
Al Mohler once said that when sinners gather together (as in cities), they will celebrate their sin (e.g., sins, sinning, etc.) so it should not be a surprise to anyone that the centers of these types of sins are places where sinners (among whom you, the reader and i, the author, are chief, let's remember) congregate and celebrate sinfulness.

What are you willing to do in your own sphere of influence, today, to bring Christ's light into a sinful situation?
