I can't tell you the last time I was actually physically sickened after reading supposedly Christian material. But it happened just now (unfortunately just after dinner...ack).
You may remember that Pastor Kyle Lake of University Baptist Church died recently after being electrocuted during a baptismal service. A tragic loss for a vibrant ministry in Waco, TX.
Well, a Mr. Paul Proctor has exploited this incident and vomited a diatribe against Rev. Lake and the greater Emerging Church. To be honest, I couldn't even finish the last third of the article - I could only scan it, with that tostada just inching its way back up my throat.
Of course, any discourse would be impossible with this man - I've encountered too many of them in my life, especially in my early years ensconced in legalism. He justifies his vile bile by supposing to be the all-encompassing voice of God on Earth.
After encountering a person like this who spews out the "promises" of God, the only consolation is that God indeed has His own promises for him.
