July fourth fireworks

It's that time of year again to set off some fireworks with a couple explosive articles:

Were Founding Fathers "Christian"? (Moi)

Was the Revolutionary War justified? (Mark Noll from Christianity Today.)

And remember, use extreme caution with fireworks around mannequins and watermelons!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm so grateful to live in the U.S.!
WAR IS NOT AN ANSWER. TO QUOTE BENJAMIN FRANKLIN: "THERE NEVER WAS A GOOD WAR OR BAD PEACE."
Yes. By their own admissions, all (with the possible exception of Franklin who nevertheless worshipped the Judeo-Christian creator God) the founding fathers were Christians. We may question the doctrine of a few, but ALL grounded their faith in the Bible. There were no atheists, agnostics, Hindus, or Muslims. Our founding, our constitution, our law, our basic understanding of human nature was thoroughly grounded in the God of the Bible.

Was America founded on an evil war undertaken by a people in rebellion to the statutes of the Bible. Gee. Mark Noll seems to think so. This is a grave insult to the conscience and faith of the founding fathers. If only Mark Noll had been there he could have talked them out of authoring the Declaration of Independence. Sigh. I think the founding fathers found themselves in a similar predicament to Gideon who was tired of the Philistines exacting exorbitant taxes from the Jews. Jesus will return one day with a sword to liberate this world from the occupation of it's earthly and demonic rulers. And apologies to Mark Noll, it won't be non-violent.
Midianites, not Philistines. Sorry.
