Madeleine L'Engle, author of A Wrinkle in Time and many other wonderful books, died this week. Here's an obituary in the New York Times. Christianity Today has posted some excellent items about L'Engle to commemorate her life: an interview with L'Engle about allegorical fantasy; a look at good and evil as portrayed in her books; and a review of her spiritual journey as seen in several books.
If you're not familiar with L'Engle or her works, her Wikipedia entry is a good starting point.
L'Engle was a powerful and creative voice for the faith. Her wonderful Wrinkle in Time books greatly enriched my childhood. Thanks for your work, Madeleine--you'll be missed.
