Roman Catholics and the U.S. Supreme Court

OK, by now you all know that Bush nominated Joseph Alito to the Supreme Court. If my googling around yielded correct results, Alito is Roman Catholic. If confirmed, that means that the Supreme Court will be populated by 5 Roman Catholics - 5 out of 9. This has to be a source of pride for Catholics who only 45 years ago watched JFK's fitness for office questioned due to his religious affiliation. Discuss the phenomenon itself and make reference to Calvinism's failure to bring its emphasis on the cultural mandate to the courts (and rarely anywhere else, for that matter).
