Tag clouding the Bible

Another item from the "I'm not sure how useful this is, but it sure is cool" file: some intrepid soul has run many books of the Bible through Wordle, which generates a "word cloud" (like the tag clouds you see on blogs) based on the text. The results give you a visual sense of which words are used most frequently in the work. Here are word clouds for a bunch of New Testament books. It's really interesting, although not surprising, to see how often the names of Jesus and God crop up.

Others have seized on the idea and generated word clouds for a few Christian classics, as well. Here's Martin Luther's 95 Theses:

Thanks for this, Andy. I linked to it on Better Bibles today.
Wow, this is so interesting!
So weird - just yesterday I was using AWK to do word frequency analysis on books of the Bible! This is much prettier however - time to make some T-shirts and posters!
Cool idea, Mark--if you do make any sort of publicly-available tshirts or other goodies (say on Cafepress), come back here and post a link!
I WISH TO BE WITH CHRIST. WORKING ANYTHING FOR THE POOR.WHAT CAN I DO?
Here's a few wordclouds I made for texts from several different traditions (seemed like an interesting next step) http://themattperry.com/2008/1...
