Tuesday links

So many links, so little time. Here's a few worthwhile items that have crossed my RSS reader this week:

* Good discussion over at the Thinklings about the church's quest to bring "aggressive young guys" into the fold. Most Christians would probably agree that there is a marked shortage of young men who are actively involved in the church, but how should we go about addressing this?

* Dick Staub came down pretty hard on the Christian film Facing the Giants (which attracted some controversy over the rating it received, if you recall). Staub is now taking some flak for criticizing a Christian film. Should we cut Christian artistic endeavors a bit of extra slack when critiquing them, or does that do more harm than good? (Via Looking Closer.)

* There's a big AIDS conference going on in Toronto this week, and one of the big questions is what religious groups can do to help in the face of the AIDS crisis.

* Here's a great tool to help with your online Bible reading: a Google Earth community is hard at work on a project to highlight Biblical cities and other locations on Google Earth and Google Maps. There are about 200 places listed so far. No more confusion over obscure Biblical place-names! Hat tip: the ESV Blog, which has more info.
