I live near Benny Hinn. I drove by his "house" (or should I say "small city"), and it looks like something Warren Buffet would own. It's frustrating and sad to see that this is extremely successful and as Christians we become guilty by association to it.

Thanks Todd for calling this out.

The article points to celebrity clergy, but maybe it also points to all Christians. The ideas of giving and generosity weren't just for Christian leaders but also for Christians in general and is part of servanthood.

Thanks for the honesty what I discern is that most of the preachers on TBN are not just hucksters looking for wealth most of them believe what they preach although many times it may be in error. A lot speak from their own mind not what God or the Holy Spirit revealed to them. There is a lot of pressure to being a messenger from God. What do you say if God said nothing to you if you had no personal revelation from God, I think a lot stretch the truth. I think the main problem is taking scripture from its context and not preaching the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation and just using those parts of the Bible which support your own idea of ministry. We must be molded by God's Word allow it to shape our lives and Hope expect the Holy Spirit to be our Guide. TBN lifts up the Lord Jesus Christ in a special way this their salvation not the prosperity gospel that many preach. God bless thanks for the honesty love James Reid Ross

I have a very simple rule of thumb about TV preachers: There is only ONE on the planet that I trust, and that is because I know him well, in person. Pity he's not on TV in the USA.

So I have an additional rule of thumb: There is nothing at all trustworthy in any way on TBN. It is nothing but a disgusting branch of the entertainment industry--disgusting sometimes because of the horrible quality, but ALWAYS because it is masking as ministry.
