I have come to the conclusion that those who are rich are those who can afford to share, and an overflow of thankfulness should result in lavish giving. The line, "the true blessings in my life[are] people and the time and resources to serve them," rings true for me, too.

I'm thankful for my adult kids, now with faith (and jobs and families and budgets ) of their own, who now "get it"---that life is all about living day to day lives of gratitude, to God, to and for others; that it isn't about stuff, but about celebration, with joy and peace and contentment; that the best gifts are of time and presence, togetherness and shared experience, of food and drink and laughter and song and stories; (all together now): "God Bless Us Everyone!

I feel like Thanksgiving lost its relevance this year. We went to Walmart on Halloween night, and they had already put out all the Christmas candy. It seems that they want us to start buying earlier and earlier each year. Let's just skip right on over Thanksgiving and get right on to "Buy Stuff for other People" Day... oh.. I meant Christmas. :)
