How to Tell the Christmas Story, Yet Again

Churches retelling the story of Christ's birth should remember that the Incarnation needs no help producing awe.

Thanks, Steve, for these thoughts, especially the comment about grappling with "the fabricated binary of choosing between relevance and truth." How sad when the church changes the core of the Gospel in order to attempt to be relevant to its context. We need to remember that it is the Gospel truth that needs contextualizing so that people hear the Truth himself. The needs of the world and its peoples are still the same, the Truth is still the same, though the languages we use to communicate that Truth to the peoples of the world seem to be ever changing.
