Interfaith dialogue & the opening of the 'Ground Zero Mosque'
Today marks the first public event to take place at Park51, the controversial Islamic community center in New York City that came to be known as the "Ground Zero Mosque." Earlier this year at the Q Ideas conference, a Q&A was held with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who was an early supporter of Park51. Rauf and Q founder Gabe Lyons discussed Christian-Muslim history, Sharia Law and how the world’s two largest religions can co-exist and even cooperate in such a contentious time.
A few questions to consider after watching the video:
- What do you make of Rauf's understanding of Christianity?
- Did you learn anything you didn't know about Islam?
- What common ground do you see that Christians and Muslims hold?
- What is a Biblical model/method for the future of Christian-Muslim relations?
