For the third year in a row, it’s our pleasure to be a simulcast site for Calvin College’s January Series, a program of lectures from world-class thinkers on topics of faith and culture. Through Jan. 26, each talk will be streamed live at our offices, 6555 W. College Drive, Palos Heights, Ill.
Because this isn’t very helpful to those of you who don’t live in the Chicago area, we’ll also be live-tweeting a handful of the talks, and we plan to post full video of a few of the lectures shortly after they’ve been given. Calvin is also providing a live audio stream each day at 11:30 a.m. CST.
Among the talks that look particularly intriguing are Jan. 7’s panel discussion on “The Renaissance of Christian Thought,” featuring George Marsden, Richard Mouw, Alvin Plantinga and Nicholas Wolterstorff; Eboo Patel’s discussion of “Interfaith Leadership” on Jan. 11; and The New York Times’ David Brooks speaking about “The Road to Character” on Jan. 13. A full schedule of lecturers can be found here.
We’d love to see you in person, but if driving to Chicago in January isn’t your idea of a good time, be sure to follow our coverage of the January Series on Twitter and here on the website. As always, once the speakers have had their say, we’ll be eager to hear your thoughts.
