My Favorite Quote for the Past Year

Paul Vander Klay

January 1, 2010

Neither of the options offered here satisfies me. Spiritually, I live each day at a time, even though, materially, I do save for a rainy day, make plans for what I hope to accomplish next year, etc. The next life is on a transcendent plane so utterly alien to this one, that I cannot really contemplate it. There is no purpose to contemplating streets paved with gold or McMansions in the sky. Quarks and bosons will not be the substance of my being there. That my striving on this planet has a purpose beyond my immediate temporal existence is sufficient. I try, unsuccessfully, to live as I should here, to use the time to good purpose, and trust in God's infinite grace for the rest.
