Rude sales clerks can be an effective sales technique, but they also reveal the short-lived reward of seeking approval through purchases.

Life's too short to put up with rudeness like that. I try to respond with kindness since a soft answer turns away wrath much of the time, but that doesn't mean I have to return to the store for a second helping of discourtesy.
