Reds manager Bryan Price's profanity-laden rant reminded me why I turned away from the foul-mouthed ways of my youth.

Use language appropriately. Context is important. This means that sometimes words that the Pharisees among us deem inherently inappropriate are actually appropriate, or OK.

But if your language is out of control, ya - it needs to be tamed, whether or not you're using words that the Pharisees have deemed inherently inappropriate.

I think the old expression still rings true; "profanity is the effort of a feeble mind trying to express itself forcefully". I learned this as a young person and it always convicted me when tempted to use profanity.

Is it really Christian of us to consider that people who use "profanity" have feeble minds? I've heard some awfully smart people use profanity.
