What do a new study on cohabitation and Gwyneth Paltrow's "conscious uncoupling" mean in light of a Christian understanding of marriage?

And on using the word uncoupling instead of divorce, I think marriage and divorce both are done a disservice. If divorce is merely uncoupling then marriage is merely coupling. I'm not sure my wife would appreciate hearing it put that way, and I know I don't!

I think the word "coupling" cheapens the whole concept of marriage. I cringe at because it elicits thoughts of a man and a woman merely coming together for the sole purpose of mating. I believe God instituted marriage as a microcosmic representation of Christ's relationship with the church...
