‘Please Give’ and the intricacies of charity

Just back from the opening of our new 'Family Store' ( The Salvation Army)
and couldn't help being impressed at the range of good, hardly worn clothing for sale, but also left me wondering about the over abundance of clothes that some people must be buying that they give them away before they are worn out! When I was a kid in the '50s we either wore our clothes out or passed them down to younger siblings.Cheap Chinese made clothes help of course but I wonder about the poor Chinese peasants working in the sweatshops so we can buy more than we need! I feel cheerfull when I give ( money usually-I wear my clothes out)! when I know that everything I have is a gift from God anyway.
