The unassuming faith of Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou didn’t call herself a Christian - she saw that as referring to something that was complete, rather a work in progress.

Thanks for this reflection Kimberly! I heard Dr Angelou speak at the Festival of Faith and Writing in 2000 and I wish I could remember what she said about faith then. One thing I've really been inspired by in the reflections after her death is so many stories of kindness and gentleness from her, that strikes me as a particularly strong reflection of God's image.
