What Owl City can learn from The Cars (and vice versa)

After going to you link on Owl City,I was suprised to see how big they/he is.The music buisness is far different now than when The Cars first appeared out of Boston. You can now sell millions of CD`s from your basement, thanks to the new computer age. This did not exist 30 years ago.(Justin Beber did the same thing starting from You Tube)
I don`t understand how these two can be compared in the same category of aging gracefully?Ric Ocasek must be around 60 and Mr Young early, 20`s.
The Cars are a 4 piece rock band and Owl City is one guy in a basement with a computer/sampler.
Trying to link the Rock and Roll lifestyle to a Christian lifestyle.....that is another posting all to itself.
I just watched the movie Ray,about Ray Charles. It is excellant

As a clarification; I make no attempt to compare the music of The Cars or Owl City outside of the fact that both make pop music that is often very light-hearted and commercial. I contrast their ages and experience levels for a specific reason. I hope Adam is afforded the opportunity to grow in experience and wisdom as The Cars have, and I hope Ric and the gang can enjoy the process as much as Adam clearly does. You can really read these as two separate "reviews", parked together over the contrasts, more than the comparisons. I do like the fact that thoughtful pop music refuses to die, though many cultural nihilists would rejoice if it did.
