You named your kid Atticus?! Relax

Like the flawed and even villainous heroes of the Bible, Go Set a Watchman's Atticus Finch is a reminder of our innate fallibility.

There are few names that people reject completely, but it happens that a name takes on such infamy that it falls into disuse. I haven't come across anyone named Adolph born after WW2, for example.

But the good news is that God redeems people, not names. And when he brings his new creation we will have new names anyway. So whether Atticus or Adolph or any other name one might have, redemption is coming for all.
