If the Oscars observed Lent

Great thoughts, Josh. I don't typically share your appreciation of dark movies, but I do agree that the Best Picture nominees don't really reflect society in 2011.

But, when has Hollywood ever really represented real life? Perhaps we needed the more hopeful movies precisely BECAUSE real life in 2011 was no picnic.

Of course, the only movies I saw in theaters this year were Harry Potter, The Muppets, Cars 2, and Winnie the Pooh, so that probably says something about me anyway. :)
