I like that answer: referring to Ecclesiastes! It's a do-able compromise: moderation and perspective. However, I can respect both views. Sometimes a thing has served its purpose, or you simply out grow it! Sometimes, you just want/need a break -- which can help you to appreciate the thing more, and, keep it in perspective.
Sometimes the most beneficial part of a conversation is constructive listening.

I agree with your point that there is a time to engage on social media and a time to get away. But when I do get on-line it is mostly for community. I'm not a fan of being on Twitter, FB, etc., just to see how many people ends up in my numbers. (Dear Mega-Twitterer: why I didn't follow you back)
