Quick Thought: Faith and Feelings

Jerod Clark

On the Think ChristianFacebook page, we asked the question: When it comes to your faith and trust in Jesus, what role do (or should) feelings play?

Here are a couple of good responses people left.

I think that those emotional/spiritual "highs" are part of the baby Christian experience, but as we mature they become less frequent. As we mature and become more grounded in the Word, our faith becomes based in the Word, not in our feelings. My experience anyway.

Mary, while I agree with you, I would like to use my maturity and faith to influence my feelings too. The question hence is "Can I train my self to feel in response to my faith?" I think it should.

So now it's your chance to share.  When it comes to faith and trust in Jesus, what role do (or should) feelings play?
