The show's ninth season reminds us of humanity's need for redemption.

Thanks for the insights. I do not watch the show, but have an interest, as the creators of the Walking Dead graduated from the same high as I did, although many years later than I did. I wonder what effect of growing up in a small county seat in Kentucky had on them. They used street scenes from the town in their early graphic novels.
Like many such towns across America, our hometown has changed and declined from what it used to be . I suspect that the creators sensed that and that that insight influenced their work.
By the way, Jerry Springer’s wife also graduated from the same high school two years before I did. What a place! ????
Thanks again.

I just came across this article, and it was a good read. I like the show for many of the same reasons you do, and if interested, here's something I wrote related to the end of Season 9 and Easter: https://popularcultureandtheology.com/2019/10/07/i-want-to-tell-you-a-different-story-hope-parallels-in-the-walking-dead-and-the-resurrection/
