Schitt’s Creek is a well-crafted comedy of manners, a traditional genre that satirizes the habits and customs of the social classes.

I couldn't help thinking of Green Acres when I read your description of this new show. Karen. Olive and Lisa Douglas may not have lost everything, but they still found themselves on the farm and trying to learn how to live in completely foreign environs. Much like Eugene Levy, Eddie Albert played the competent (if barely) straight man to just about everyone else, including the neighbor's pig Arnold.

Tim, that's a great parallel there with Green Acres! There really is nothing new under the sun.

To me the best descriptor is green acres meets arrested development.
