I know this article is over a year old, but re-watching The Royal Tenenbaums I had a thought...
does Richie's Shaving of his head during his suicide attempt scene not suggest some crazy Sampson-inspired biblical imagery? Not to mention he does it because of his weakness for a woman...intentional on Anderson's part?

Hmm... Hard to say, Jem. I see the parallels, but I also recognize that characters frequently shave their heads in movies as an external expression of inner distress. Could be as simple as that.
