One way to understand Burnham’s provocative comedy special is to see it in the tradition of Ezekiel.
I'm glad someone else saw the biblical connotations as well. It was crass but beautiful in the same breath.
“Father, please forgive me, for I did not realize what I did
Or that I'd live to regret it...”
This line specifically spoke to me from Problematic.
It has me wondering if his cross earring and crucifixion reenactment are displays of a born-again Christian or blatant disrespect to Christianity. I’m on the fence.
I was a huge fan of Bo Burnham back in the day and I am very impressed with this film from an artistic standpoint. I’d love to pick his brain!
