I suppose for some people, believing in something like this is easier than believing in God, or Salvation through Jesus... I believe we are the only ones in this vast universe.
(John 3:16)KJV. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
If there were other worlds with life out there besides our own, then wouldn't our Holy Bible say: "For God so loved the universe.."
This is the reason that I do not believe in Extraterrestrials, etc; alien life forms are demons, and just as in the days of Noah, they are back...deluding and deceiving people.

Hi Valerie,

Maybe I'm misunderstanding Tevin's (and the Vox video's) characterization of Afrofuturism, but I didn't take it to mean that its adherents believe in it as a literal vision of reality. Rather, it seems to be a way of expressing a longing for justice that's out of this world - a longing shared by Christians.
