TC Movie Club: True Grit

True Grit is the final movie we’re considering as part of our series on the films of Joel and Ethan Coen. Throughout the series, we’ve placed a handful of their movies within an Old Testament/New Testament framework. Are Jeff Bridges' Rooster and Hailee Steinfeld's Mattie tools of God’s justice, as righteously represented by the law in the Old Testament? Or are they seeking something more akin to cold-blooded revenge? Might they discover a different path on this particular journey?
